Advice for My Grandchildren

My grandparents left China for Nanyang in search of a better life.

My parents lived through the Japanese Occupation and experienced poverty.

Their generation learned to survive through hard work, thrift, and perseverance.

My mother's advice to me was simple: work hard.

As for me, I survived years of unemployment by learning to trust God and obey His prompting, even when I could not see the road ahead.

Every generation faces different challenges.

The world my grandchildren will inherit is very different from the one my parents knew.

Technology is changing rapidly.

Jobs come and go.

Industries rise and disappear.

If there is one lesson I would pass on to my grandchildren, it is this:

Learn to adapt.

Be flexible like water.

And remember that when the future is uncertain, faith can provide an anchor.

Work hard, adapt quickly, and trust God through the changes of life.
